Heads Up Lancaster Drumming and Breakdancing

Heads Up Lancaster to offer “Basic Junkyard Drumming” and “Basic Breakdancing” at Public Libraries this summer!

Public Libraries of Lancaster County are pleased to host Heads Up Lancaster educators and artists who will present special Breakdancing and Drumming programs for youth as part of the Summer Reading theme Libraries Rock! The group is led by Jeo Ramos, a professional rapper who travels the country performing and inspiring youth to empower them to find their innate talents and passions. Programs will run from June 12 through August 13.   See full schedule below.

Program Descriptions

Basic Breakdancing
Students will learn about the basics of breakdancing through demonstration and participation. This program focuses on the importance of warming up, practicing, and stretching. Students should wear sneakers, and come prepared to move. Some discussion includes health & wellness, breakdance history, and personal growth through competition.

Basic Junkyard Drumming
Students will learn about the basics of rhythm using everyday objects to create a cohesive whole. This program focuses on active learning and participation. It will get loud, yet will showcase how with teamwork and cooperation, we can create something exciting. Some discussion includes patience, teamwork, and discovering our true potential.
