Bestselling author, Kristin Hannah, to appear at
Friends of Public Libraries special author event!
Kristin Hannah, bestselling author of 24 novels will make a special appearance in Lancaster County on as part of her Book Tour announcing the debut of her latest novel, THE WOMEN!
The event will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 11:00AM at the Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster, PA.
The Council of Friends of Public Libraries and Midtown Scholar Books will host the event, which is a fundraiser for all of the public libraries in Lancaster County. The event is one of the stops on Hannah’s book tour celebrating the release of her latest novel, The Women.
The Women is the story of a turbulent era in America: the 1960s and the women who volunteered as nurses during the Vietnam war. It is an intimate portrait of a woman coming of age in a dangerous time and an epic tale of a nation divided by war and of a generation both fueled by dreams and lost on the battlefield.
About the Author
Kristin Hannah is the award-winning and bestselling author of more than 20 novels including the international blockbuster, The Nightingale, which was named Goodreads Best Historical fiction novel for 2015 and won the coveted People’s Choice award for best fiction in the same year. Adriana Trigiani is the bestselling author of 20 books in fiction and nonfiction, an award-winning filmmaker, and host of the hit podcast, You Are What You Read. She is published in 38 languages around the world. Trigiani grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where she co-founded The Origin Project, an in-school writing program serving over 2,700 students in Appalachia. In 2023, she received the Cavaliere nell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia by President Sergio Mattarella of Italy. She is proud to serve on the New York State Council on the Arts and lives in New York City with her family.
The Council of Friends
Established in 2000, the award-winning Council of Friends of Public Libraries is made up of volunteers who are committed to promoting reading countywide. The group has hosted author events for the past 23 years, which raised $146,500 for the public libraries in Lancaster County.
Tickets are $50 each and will go on sale November 1. Ticket price includes the author presentation and a hardcover copy, complete with signed bookplate, of Hannah’s latest novel, The Women!
