National Network of Libraries of Medicine awards Lancaster County for disaster preparedness summit training

The Library System of Lancaster County receives National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) award to prepare public libraries of Lancaster County for disaster preparedness summit and training
July 8, 2015 – The Library System on behalf of its member public libraries is pleased to announce that they have been granted a special $8,230 award to fund an upcoming emergency/disaster preparedness summit and Red Cross trainings this fall.  A special summit is slated for September 23, 2015 and will include a special panel of experts in the area of disaster preparedness and a visiting trainer from the NN/LM Mid-Atlantic Region to provide a full day of training to prepare public libraries in the development of a customized Service Continuity Plan for their library facility. Popular entertainer, Steven Courtney, ill offer a number of fun and upbeat concerts for children and families throughout the county’s public libraries as part of this year’s Summer Reading Program!  Courtney’s concerts are filled with sing-a-long songs, loads of good humor and a touch of inspiration for everyone.   His concerts run from July 7 through July 23..
