Joseph Hirt, a survivor of the Holocaust, returns to the Milanof-Schock Library to share his tragic childhood story

Milanof–Schock Library, located at 1184 Anderson Ferry Road in Mount Joy, invites you to join them in welcoming Dr. Joseph Hirt on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 p.m. for an encore presentation of his Story of a Holocaust Survivor.

Dr. Hirt’s tragic story is of a family separated by the circumstances of war, an 8-month imprisonment at Auschwitz, and his journey to America. During the program, he will share photos that are often disturbing yet necessary to convey the horrific treatment experienced by Hirt, his family, and others like them.

Dr. Hirt brought this presentation to the Library last year; it was so well-received by the community that he spoke a second time a few months later. The Library has asked him to return so that he may reach all of the members of the community who were not able to hear him speak and for those that were so moved that they would like to hear his story another time.
