The Board of the Manheim Community Library appointed Melissa Foltz as their new library director in May. She brings with her a wealth of library experience as well as enthusiasm for her new position.
Foltz is very excited to return to the public library scene and welcomes input from the community, “I invite the Manheim community to visit the library and discuss ideas on what they would like to see in their library!”
Her background in libraries is impressive. Her past experiences include serving as the Acquisition and Budget Specialist at Penn State Dickinson Law (2014-2016). She was also the Branch Manager at Boonsboro Free Library (2011-2014), a branch of the Washington County Free Library. As an active member of the Pennsylvania Library Association, she is the Membership Chair of the South Central Chapter, serving on the PA Forward Star Library Program Committee and Chair of the Pa Forward Civic and Social Literacy Committee. In June 2016, she attended PALS (PaLA Academy for Leadership Studies) for Directors.
Foltz received a BSBA from Shippensburg University and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Stop by the Manheim Community Library to welcome Melissa as their new leader!
