This means that admission is FREE for active military and their families from Memorial Day, May 25 to Labor Day, September 7, 2015.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania (June 23, 2015) – While nature is turning different shades of greens, pinks, yellows and purples, North Museum of Nature and Science is turning red, white and blue beginning this Memorial Day. The Museum is participating in the Blue Star Museums program, which allows for active military families to visit local museums with free general admission. Along with 2,000 other museums across the nation, this program is in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense.
The Blue Star Museums program runs Memorial Day, May 25 to Labor Day, September 7. Active military families need to show their military identification card at the admissions desk for them and up to five family members, which includes spouses, children, aunts, uncles and grandparents, to receive complimentary general admission. The active military member need not be present provided a family member has an appropriate identification card.
As stated on the Blue Star Museums website, the purpose of the program is to, “improve the quality of life for active military families.” North Museum of Nature and Science is proud to be a Blue Star Museums member and hopes visiting families will find the elements here to inspire curiosity and let their inner scientist come out to play™.For more information about Blue Star Museums visit their website at http://arts.gov/national/blue-star-museums.
