Officials of the Strasburg-Heisler Library were pleased to host a “Big Reveal Party” on Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 am at the library. The ‘big reveal’ was the unveiling of an 8’ x 4’ mural based on author Lynne Dempsey’s new book entitled, Colors. The illustrator of the book, Mandy Newham-Cobb, created the wall mural that is located in the children’s section of the library. The celebration included the release of Colors with a meet and greet of both the author and illustrator, and the star of Lynne’s first book Take the Dog Out, Coco! Children and their families attended the event and had the opportunity to meet the author and the illustrator. Continue reading

Public Libraries honor a Trustee, Library Staff and Volunteer at their Annual Meeting
The Library System of Lancaster County honored a library trustee, a public library staff member, and a library volunteer during their Annual Meeting held on Tuesday, April 28 at the Manheim Township Public Library. The Library Trustee recognized for over 20 years of service to public libraries is Terry L. Kauffman, Library Trustee of the Library System of Lancaster County. Kauffman is currently Vice President of Business Development for Arro consulting in Lititz, PA. He is also current Chairman of the Lancaster County Transportation Authority. He had served as the Administrator of Mount Joy Borough Authority, a position that he held since 2001 before his retirement from that post. Continue reading
