On Saturday, September 10th, the Milanof-Shock Library and Mayor Tim Bradley will host an event entitled 9/11 Remembered: A Fifteenth Anniversary. The ceremony will be held at the Milanof-Schock Library located at 1184 Anderson Ferry Rd, Mount Joy, PA 17552. Proceedings will begin promptly at 1 p.m., and we are requesting that all guests arrive by 12:50 p.m.
This ceremony will honor those men and women who have sacrificed their lives and those who continue to bear the scars of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Additionally, it will honor those who have served or continue to serve in the fight against terrorism through their military service or through their service in public safety. Along with a flag ceremony and special music, featured speakers will include former New York Fire Department firefighter Jim Murphy, who was present during the events at Ground Zero, and former army officer Sen. Ryan Aument who served in a combat role in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. Special guests will include local emergency responders and veterans’ organizations.
