Anne Frank Traveling Exhibit Coming to the Milanof-Schock Library

Reading & Writing with Anne Frank exhibit first time in Pennsylvania!

The Milanof-Schock Library in Mount Joy is excited and honored to be able to offer an amazing exhibit to the public! “Reading & Writing with Anne Frank” is coming to us from the Anne Frank Center USA and will be on display at the library from February 6 through March 9, 2017.

This is the first time that the “Reading & Writing with Anne Frank” traveling exhibit has come to Pennsylvania! This engaging display will help us all get to know Anne Frank as a writer and learn what books Anne read that were smuggled into the Secret Annex. Everyone is invited to the Library to enjoy and experience this display. Larger groups – classrooms, home-school groups, women’s groups, book discussion groups, school clubs, Scouts, history enthusiasts – are also welcome, and it’s free for public appreciation!

The Library is in the process of planning programs and events to highlight this incredible exhibit and will make sure to promote them as the time nears. Teachers, families, or anyone who plans to visit the display, are welcome to print out a workbook to bring along to make the experience more interactive and personal; the workbook can be found on our web site for two different age groups.

The Library is also searching for individuals to volunteer their time to be Docents for the exhibit. Docents will be trained to work with the public and students of all ages and are needed to serve two-hour shifts when the Library is open or for specially-scheduled visits. All Docents MUST provide the Library with copies of their PA Police Criminal Background Check and the PA Child Abuse Clearance. Interested Docents must sign up by January 23 for the training to be held on Friday, February 3 from 9-11a.m. and can call the Library to do so.

We are so thankful to have this unique opportunity to bring something so special to our community.  Please visit the Library’s website www.mslibrary.org to register for this program or call 717-653-1510.
