Best-selling mystery writer, Louise Penny, to appear at Friends of Public Libraries author event!
Louise Penny, bestselling author of 19 novels will make a special appearance in Lancaster County on as part of her fall book tour announcing the debut of her latest novel, The Grey Wolf , the nineteenth novel in Louise Penny’s #1 New York Times-bestselling series.
The event will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 1:00PM at the Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster, PA. The Council of Friends of Public Libraries and Midtown Scholar Books will host the event, which is a fundraiser for all of the public libraries in Lancaster County.
Ms. Penny will be interviewed on stage by Anne Shannon, WGAL News Reporter.

About The Author
Louise Penny is a Canadian author of mystery novels set in the Canadian province of Quebec centered on the work of francophone Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec. She resides outside a small village south of Montreal, quite close to the American border. She came to writing later in life. Her first book, Still Life, was written when she was 40. Before being published she was a journalist and radio broadcaster with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She credits her late husband, Michael, for his support and inspiration in having the freedom to write. He was also the inspiration for Armand Gamache—a thoughtful, generous, a man of courage and integrity, who both loved and accepted love.

Established in 2000, the award-winning Council of Friends of Public Libraries is made up of volunteers who are committed to promoting reading countywide. The group has hosted author events for the past 24 years, which raised $229,800 for the public libraries in Lancaster County.
