Library System installs new board officers at their Annual Meeting

The Library System of Lancaster County announced their Board Member roster for the coming year at their Annual Meeting that was held at the Manheim Township Public Library, on Wednesday, April 18th.   The installation of the board’s officers took place after the slate of officers for 2018-2019 was voted upon at the business meeting portion of the event.

The 2018 board members include Christina Diehl, Jeanne Grimsley, Elizabeth Ann Flaherty, Rich Frerichs, G. Kenneth Kohlmaier, Shel O. Lundquist and Diane Tannehill.

The elected slate of officers are as follows:

Brandon Danz and Andre Fouchet stepped off the board this year since their terms have expired.  The County Commissioners appointed two new board members who will replace Danz and Fouchet starting next month.

New Board Members
Elizabeth A. Flaherty, Esquire
Elizabeth A. Flaherty is Deputy Counsel to the Judicial Conduct Board of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. She earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law and her B.S. in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College. Ms. Flaherty serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Judicial Disciplinary Counsel, a national organization, and the Executive Council of the Women in the Profession Commission of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

 

Shel O. Lundquist
Shel O. Lundquist is an accountant with Ross Buehler Falk & Company, LLP, a position she has held since 2013.  Her expertise includes tax preparation for individuals and small to medium-sized business and not-for-profit entities, audit and attestation fieldwork, and financial statement preparation.  She communicates with clients and partners to ensure accurate financial representation and also assists in training new team members on workflow, software, and office procedures/policies.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (May 2012) and a Master of Accounting (2013) from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.  Her recognition for outstanding professional achievements includes the Calvert Ellis Scholarship for SAT/ACT scores and GPA 2008 – 2012 as well as the Charles M. Rice Accounting Prize for outstanding performance in accounting, April 2012.

Christina Diehl, President
Christina Diehl has been a Lancaster County resident for her entire life.  Born and raised in Lititz where her family still resides, she now lives in downtown Lancaster City.  After earning a Bachelor degree in Marketing from West Chester University, Christina now works as a Realtor for Banker Residential Brokerage.  She currently serves on the on the CRIZ Authority after being appointed by the Mayor and additionally is on the LCAR board of directors.

 

Jeanne Grimsley, Vice President
Jeanne Grimsley has been an advocate for public libraries as a member of the Lititz Public Library Friends Group for the past 20 years.  She currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries (PCBL). As a PCBL board member, she contributed to the establishment of an Annual Friends Institute, which has attracted over 100 PA library friends who share ideas for bringing renewed commitment and vibrancy to the public libraries they serve.  Grimsley’s work as an Independent Writer focuses on writing marketing communications and resumes.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ursinus College as well as an MS Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola College.  Her additional community service includes serving on the Lititz Borough Civil Service Commission.

 

G. Kenneth Kohlmaier, Treasurer
G. Kenneth Kohlmaier is a private wealth advisor and franchise owner of The Kohlmaier Muscalus Group.  He has worked as a Certified Financial Planner for over 33 years with a specialty focus on retirement planning, estate planning, investment planning and tax planning strategies.  He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College where he earned dual degrees in Government and Psychology and also has a Juris Doctorate from George Mason University in Washington, D.C.   He is also a member of the Washington D.C. Bar.   He has served his clients and community by providing wealth management services to help people achieve their goals and aspirations in a thoughtful and prudent manner.  His professional affiliations are with Financial Planning Association and The Million Dollar Round Table.   He received the Ameriprise Diamond Ring Club Award in 1993 and was inducted in the Ameriprise Hall of Fame in 2008.

 

Diane Tannehill, Secretary
Diane Tannehill retired from the U.S. Department of Energy, where as a member of the Senior Executive Service, she served as the Director of the Office of Oil and Gas, Energy Information Administration.  Her responsibility included managing staffs in Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas and she worked closely with the U.S. Congress, petroleum trade groups, and oil and gas companies.   In this post she traveled throughout the United States giving statistical presentations and conducting training programs. From 1990 through 1992 she served as the Government Co-chair of the National Petroleum Council for the Committee on Natural Gas.  For her service, she received the Meritorious Award – the second highest civilian award given by the U.S. Government.  She has been a resident of Lancaster since 1996 and since then has served as a community volunteer for a number of nonprofit organizations.
