Join us for our fourth annual, award-winning Teen SummerZine Program with Lancaster Libraries! Every summer, we bring students ages 12-19 together with mentor authors to create poetry, short stories, visual art, and comics. Our end product is a print magazine, and a copy will circulate at each of the 16 libraries in Lancaster County. You can check out the 2021, 2022, and 2023 editions at your local library.

So what do our meetings look like?
We’ll continue to have in-person programs at the Manheim Township Library and they will also be available as zoom meetings. So, in addition to having face-to-face time with our mentors and other creative teens, there will also be snacks!
Each month, we have 2 meetings. The first meeting of each month is all about getting inspired and learning from our mentor authors. They’ll tell you about their creative process and give you some prompts. About half of the total meeting time is spent writing, drawing, or otherwise creating. The second meeting of each month is a time to share your work and get feedback from our mentor author and your peers. Bring something you’re working on or just listen and learn!
At the end of the summer, you can submit your work for publication, and we’ll cap it all off in early December with our Publication Celebration (with cupcakes!)
