The Library System of Lancaster County is pleased to announce this year’s Annual Meeting will be held at the Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road, Lititz, PA on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:00 pm. This year’s program will feature the screening of the film, The Public, an American film written and directed by Emilio Estevez. The film, which made its national debut on April 5th, addresses an important issue that impacts public libraries: how to deal with the homeless populations in communities throughout the country.
Light refreshments will be served at 6:00 pm followed by brief announcements at 6:30 pm that will include short recognition of service award honorees. The special screening of the film, The Public, will begin at 7:00 pm. The event is open to the public, so anyone interested in seeing this compelling film, is encouraged to attend! Penn Ketchum, President and co-owner of Penn Cinema, appreciates the value that libraries bring to the community. He was very enthusiastic when approached with the idea of launching the film at our Annual Meeting. Penn Cinema will be showing the film for a full week starting Friday, April 12th through April 18th. Standard admission rates will apply to the general public for all shows screened that week.

Election and Installation of Board Members
Votes for the Library System’s Board officers for 2019 will take place at the business-meeting portion of the event. The 2019 board members include Christina Diehl, Jeanne Grimsley, Rich Frerichs, Dale Hamby, G. Kenneth Kohlmaier, Elizabeth Ann Flaherty, and Shel O. Lundquist.
